Children’s Play Kitchen Set
For this ceramics project, we were asked to create a piece that took the human body into consideration.
I decided to go off of the notion of play and children. I have always been interested in Montessori learning, and created this toy set with that in mind.
The idea is to allow children to play with beautiful, delicate objects so that they can learn how to handle them and appreciate the materials. These objects also allow children to explore food through imaginative play.
Ceramics: Slip casted DM; white matte glaze.
Wood: Alder; CNC routed handles and utensils; lathed lid.
